Zagreb Research Meeting (online)

On July 2, 2021, the second official meeting of the BARMIG project took place. Initially planned offline meeting in Zagreb in Croatia, due to the pandemic COVID-19 has been moved to the network platform ZOOM.

UMCS (Poland), UT (Estonia) and IRMO (Croatia), ZEPSR (Slovakia) will draft a country report covering their respective country and the analysis of social partner strategies vis-à-vis migrants’ work and working conditions of vulnerable groups in five sectors. CELSI will draft a country report covering the Czech Republic and Hungary.

At the meeting, project partners from UMCS (Poland), UT (Estonia) and IRMO (Croatia), ZEPSR (Slovakia) presented country reports covering their respective country and the analysis of social partner strategies vis-à-vis migrants’ work and working conditions of vulnerable groups in five sectors. CELSI has prepared and presented a country report covering the Czech Republic and Hungary. The background reports for Ukraine and Serbia were also presented. The aim of this meeting was to identify common and diverging issues in how social partners across the studied countries face the problem of migrants’ work in different sectors, to discuss emerging themes for a comparative study, and planning of remaining interviews and data collection if necessary, as well as the basis for background studies.
